Allen fight being targeted
A featherweight fight between Evloev and Arnold Allen is being targeted for UFC 297 expected to take place at Toronto in January, according to MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Ideally for the UFC, Evloev and Allen fight in what will be its first pay-per-view of 2024. If this featherweight bout comes to fruition, No. 9 Evloev has an incredible chance to quickly climb the UFC's rankings, as Allen is No. 4 despite his last fight being a loss to Max Holloway.

Barely survives newcomer
Evloev defeated Diego Lopes via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Agreeing to fight Lopes on just days notice following the withdrawal of Bryce Mitchell and entering as a -1000 favorite, this thing almost ended in disaster for Evloev on multiple occasions. Yes, he was clearly the better fighter over the course of 15 minutes and deserved the decision, but he was also nearly submitted by Lopes more than once. These weren't token attempts, either. They were deep ones that would have forced countless featherweights to tap. Ultimately, Evloev will be walking out of the Prudential Center with his perfect record in tact, but this was far from an encouraging performance. Despite that, he'll still walk away with an extra $50,000 after this matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors. Now 7-0 in the UFC, the 29-year-old Russian is closing in on title-implicating bouts at 145 pounds.

Fighting new opponent
Evloev will face off against Diego Lopes in a featherweight bout at UFC 288 on May 6, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The fight, which had been previously rescheduled due to an undisclosed injury on Evloev's part, will no longer proceed as scheduled after Bryce Mitchell was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed reasons. Instead, Evloev will face off against UFC newcomer, Diego Lopes, at UFC 288.

Mitchell fight scheduled again
Evloev will fight Bryce Mitchell in a featherweight bout at UFC 288 on May 6 in Newark, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Initially, Mitchell and Jonathan Pearce were scheduled to fight at UFC 288. However, the latter suffered an undisclosed injury that will prevent his availability at the pay-per-view. Evloev volunteered to step in place of Pearce, thus re-scheduling a fight the Russian was supposed to have against Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 214 on Nov. 5. But unlike before then, Mitchell is entering it coming off a submission loss to Ilia Topuria.

Out against Mitchell
Evloev (undisclosed) was forced to withdraw from his fight against Bryce Mitchell at the UFC event on Nov. 5, Carolos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Evloev is dealing with an undisclosed injury that will keep him from participating in this featherweight bout. There is no immediate replacement for the fighter, though Ilia Topuria has volunteered to step in against Mitchell, according to Legaspi. Evloev's timeline for a return is unclear, but he'll look to continue a six-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC when healthy again.
